Since 1995, Lutz Kurth Bohr- und Brunnenausrüstungen GmbH has been based in the southern Harz region. Starting out on Kommunikationsweg in Nordhausen, then for many years under the Kohnstein bridge in Niedersachswerfen, and back at Darre since 2008, the company manufactures drill rigs and equipment for well drilling and geothermal applications, distributed both within Germany and across Europe.
Lothar Kaufhold embodies the company motto "Innovation that goes deep" in every sense. Over his 28 years with the company, he has played a major role in its development and success. Starting out as a mechanic, he went on to become workshop manager, then plant manager, and later took on sales as well. It's therefore also a personal motivation for him to fill the role of Managing Director with the same dedication he's always shown.
He takes over the position from Dirk Krueger, a geologist from Celle, who led KURTH GmbH since 2011 and is now retiring. The team thanks him for his consistently fair and professional manner, always at eye level, and wishes him all the best, happiness, and above all good health going forward.
Taking over a company in today's climate requires stamina. The war in Ukraine, the coronavirus pandemic, and the shortage of skilled workers are unfortunately not the only obstacles along the way. Even a small matter like updating the commercial register entry becomes a real challenge under Germany's rigid bureaucracy.
KURTH continues to see these obstacles as motivation. With strong business relationships with customers and suppliers, confidence is high that the company can repeat the successful years of the past.
